Why BMF Foundation:

In order to further the purpose of the corporation, Brothers Mutual Fund, Inc. has established a nonprofit public benefit organization by the name of Brothers Mutual Foundation for Charities, Inc., which is organized according to the Section 501(c) (3) of the IRS Tax Code. Brothers Mutual Foundation for Charities, Inc. is not organized for the private gain of any person. It is organized under the nonprofit public benefit corporation law for charitable and educational purposes. The Foundation raises and administers funds to advance the mission of Brothers Mutual Fund, Inc. At the end of each fiscal year, Brothers Mutual Fund, Inc. deposits eighty (80) percent of its net assets into the Foundation’s general accounts. The directors of the Foundation are appointed by Brothers Mutual Fund’s Board of Directors and are brought before the Foundation’s General Assembly for approval.

 

Our Mission:

The mission of Brothers Mutual Foundation for Charities, Inc. is to be a global forum to promote personal excellence, team spirit, camaraderie, and tolerance among Rwandans through exchange of ideas, information, experience, and community projects that bring people together.

 

Our Goals:

The purposes for which Brothers Mutual Foundation for Charities, Inc. has been formed are exclusively charitable and educational and consist of the following:

1. To provide relief to the poor, the distressed and the underprivileged by engaging in or supporting activities to create jobs, eliminate blight, provide affordable housing, and provide needed services. 

2. To lessen the burdens of government, lessen neighborhood tensions, eliminate prejudice, eliminate discrimination, and combat community deterioration.

3. To aid, support, and assist by gifts, contributions, or otherwise, other corporations, community chests, funds and foundations organized and operated exclusively for charitable, educational or scientific purposes, no part of the net earnings of which inures to the benefit of any private shareholder or individual, and no substantial part of the activities of which is carrying on propaganda, or otherwise attempting to influence legislation.

4. To do any and all lawful activities which may be necessary, useful, or desirable for the furtherance, accomplishment, fostering, or attaining of the foregoing purposes, either directly or indirectly, and either alone or in conjunction or cooperation with others, whether such others be persons or organizations of any kind or nature, such as corporations, firms, association, trusts, institution, foundations, or governmental bureaus, departments or agencies.

 

Membership:

The membership for Brothers Mutual Foundation for Charities, Inc. is open to any Rwandan that subscribes to the purposes of and participates in the activities of Brothers Mutual Foundation for Charities, Inc. and has paid dues as provided for in the corporation’s bylaws.
